I was born and grew up in Plymouth and moved to Bournemouth for university. My Dad was born here so we used to come on family holidays every year and I loved the town.
After university I worked abroad and in London but found my way back to the Bournemouth/Poole area, where I now live with my partner, Rob.
I have spent the last few years working and volunteering in charity shops, and I love everything about them. You never know what's going to be donated or which character is going to walk through the door, and they are truly a place for everyone of all ages, classes etc. The volunteers I've worked with have been the quirkiest and most fabulous people I've ever met. That's why you might find charity shops pop up in my books quite often, as I'm a little obsessed.
My first book, Buried Secrets, is very special to me. I always wanted to write a book but didn't think I ever really would, and there are a lot of personal touches in this book. I borrowed the Gribble name from Rob, and Jinx was my cat, although the real Jinx was a much nicer pussy than the fictional version. Some of the characters are based on people I know and there are names that have significance for me too. Even the karaoke songs in the pub are the favourite ones I sing with my friends.
I love creating a different world and I want all my series to have links between them. Ezra from The Wizard of Westbourne is going to be a character in a children's book I'm working on with a friend, and some of the characters from Gribble-on-Sea are on their way to the Westbourne Arcade.
I hope to continue writing and improving my books, and that you enjoy reading them.
